Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-09-22
Summary
- We are a Pipe, not a Bucket:
We proxy your API requests to LLMs. We do not store your target API keys or the payloads of your responses.
- You Own Your Data:
We claim no ownership over the APIs you bridge or the data passing through them.
- Pay for Usage:
We count requests. If you hit your limit, the bridge pauses until the 1st of the next month.
- Don't Be Malicious:
Don't use our proxy to mask attacks, bypass firewalls, or host illegal content.
- No Warranty:
We provide this service "as is." If SpecSync goes down, we are not liable for your lost productivity.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using SpecSync ("the Service"), provided by SpecSync ("we," "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you are entering into this agreement on behalf of a company, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity.
2. The Service
SpecSync is a middleware platform that converts OpenAPI/Swagger specifications into Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
- Nature of Service: We act as a real-time proxy between your AI clients (e.g., Claude, Cursor) and your target REST APIs.
- Modifications: We may update the Service to improve performance or comply with protocol changes (e.g., MCP version updates).
3. Data Privacy & 'Zero-Trust' Architecture
We designed SpecSync to be privacy-preserving for developers.
- Stateless Execution: We do not store the response bodies or data payloads returned by your target API. These are streamed directly to your MCP client.
- API Keys: We do not store your target API keys (e.g., Stripe keys, internal tokens). These are injected transiently by you per request. You are responsible for keeping your keys secure on your client device.
- Stored Data: We only store configuration data (endpoints selected, target URLs) and usage telemetry (request counts) to facilitate billing.
4. Usage & Acceptable Use
You agree to use SpecSync only for lawful purposes. Since we act as a proxy, strict adherence to these rules is required:
- No Malicious Proxying: You may not use SpecSync to mask IP addresses for the purpose of DDoS attacks, credential stuffing, or bypassing third-party firewalls.
- SSRF Protection: While we implement Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) protection, you agree not to attempt to circumvent these protections to access internal network infrastructure.
- Rate Limits: You agree not to bypass our billing counters. We reserve the right to throttle or block traffic that endangers the stability of our SSE (Server-Sent Events) streams.
5. Billing and Quotas
- Usage-Based Model: SpecSync services are billed based on monthly request quotas and the number of active bridges.
- Billing Cycle: Your usage quota resets automatically on the 1st of every calendar month (00:00 UTC). Paid plans renew on the same date; your first charge covers the days remaining in the month you subscribe.
- Overage & Blocking: If you exceed your plan's request limit, the Service will return a '402 Payment Required' status and pause execution until the next cycle or an upgrade.
- Refund Policy: We offer a 14-day refund window for all new subscriptions. If you are unsatisfied with the Service, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase. You may cancel your subscription at any time from Manage billing in your dashboard to prevent future billing.
- Taxes: Listed prices exclude tax. For customers in the United States, we add sales tax at checkout where we are required to collect it, based on your billing address.
- Customers Outside the US: Subscriptions purchased from outside the United States are sold by Stripe, through its Link service, acting as merchant of record. Stripe calculates and collects applicable sales tax, VAT or GST, issues your receipts and invoices, and handles payment support and refund requests for those purchases through Link support.
6. Intellectual Property
- Your IP: You retain all rights to your API specifications, your data, and the outputs generated by your AI agents. We claim no ownership over the 'bridges' you create.
- Our IP: We retain rights to the SpecSync platform, the ingestion engine, and the proxying infrastructure.
7. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
- 'As Is' Service: SpecSync is provided on an 'AS IS' and 'AS AVAILABLE' basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- Liability Cap: To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpecSync’s liability for any damages arising out of your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.
- Third-Party APIs: We are not responsible for the uptime, behavior, or data integrity of the Target APIs you connect to, nor the AI Clients (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI) you use. We are simply the bridge.
8. Termination
- By You: You may stop using the service at any time.
- By Us: We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate Section 4 (Acceptable Use) or if your payment method fails. We will attempt to provide notice before termination where reasonable.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
